WORLD THEATRE DAY is coming up on Sunday, March 27, 2016
TAPA is particularly delighted that SKY GILBERT is the writer for the CANADIAN message this year presented by Playwrights Guild of Canada with partners PACT (Professional Association of Canadian Theatre) and ATFC (Association des Théâtres Francophones du Canada). Sky Gilbert is the founder of Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, a playwright, director, actor and educator. Additionally Sky is a past recipient of TAPA’s prestigious SILVER TICKET AWARD that is presented annually at the Dora Mavor Moore Awards.
World Theatre Day was created in 1962 by the International Theatre Institute. Each year on March 27th ITI celebrates World Theatre Day with a message written by a figure of world stature who shares their thoughts on the theme of Theatre and a Culture of Peace.
We encourage you to share and widely circulate the CANADIAN World Theatre Day message to your members, subscribers, donors via your email newsletters, bulletins, and various social media. If you have a performing space, venue, rehearsal space, office space, we encourage you to print and post the message. Find out how you can support World Theatre Day with PACT's 2016 World Theatre Day Engagement Kit.
