DRAMA CENTER - UofT Alumni Show , September 2015: produced by Freelance Intern Productions

Produced by Freelance Intern Productions and directed by William Wong and Briar Knowles

Play Summary:

Albertine in Five Times - This award-winning play by French-Canadian playwright Michel Tremblay follows one woman, split into five decades of her life, as she reflects upon a life of abuse, love, regret and happiness. Accompanied by her ageless sister Madeleine, Albertine pieces together the events that led her to what she’s become, by facing her 5 selves.

We are casting for all roles - all ethnicities and ages are encouraged:

Albertine at 30 is sitting on the verandah of her mother’s house at Duhamel (Quebec) in 1942. She is troubled and full of rage, but hopeful.

Albertine at 40 is rocking at the balcony of the house on la rue Fabre (Montreal) in 1952. She has lost all hope and is impossibly angry with life.

Albertine at 50 is leaning on the counter of the restaurant in parc Lafontaine in 1962. She has found peace, at a cost.

Albertine at 60 is walking around her bed (in the house on la rue Fabre) in 1972. She has lost everything she held dear and struggles to find meaning.

Albertine at 70 has just arrived at a home for the elderly in 1982. She has found acceptance in herself, and in her counterparts.

Madeleine has no age, she acts as a confidante to the five Albertines.

This is a NON-EQUITY production
