The Suicide Key is a one act, hyper-realistic dark comedy that exposes and challenges ideas related to mental illness and death with dignity.
Character 'A' is a 30-year old woman who has struggled with mental illness for as long as she can remember. She has reached the point in her life where she has decided she wants to kill herself, and she has enlisted her best friend, 'B's help in ending her life. She is average, relatable, but defeated. Her character can be funny at times, but always reverts back into her depression and anxiety.
Auditions will be held on October 5th from 10am-4pm in the rehearsal hall of the Lower Ossington Theatre, in 15 minute time slots. Callbacks will be held at the same location on October 7th 12-2pm for those selected.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with headshot and resume to book an audition.
Ideal candidates will be able to relate to the struggles of mental illness, and have a desire to contribute to the conversation surrounding the ideas of life, death and the difficulties in living with an invisible illness.
