Auditions are being held to fill roles in the original play “Waking”, written by Joel Pettigrew and featured in the upcoming 2016 Fringe Festival.
We are currently seeking:
Males/Females who can do an Oxford British accent
Males/Females who can play 30+ 50+ year old characters
We are auditioning candidates for the following roles:
NIGEL BARRETT (for an actor that can play mid-late 30’s for ’95 and mid-late 50’s for ’15*) Orchestra conductor and composer for CBC Radio 1. British born Torontonian, speaks with oxford accent. Highly intelligent and verbose. Stricken by anterograde amnesia his prime. *
SONJA BARRETT (can play mid-late 30’s for ’95 and mid-late 50’s for ’15*) His wife, works in PR, and crisis management. Witty, unwavering, sweet. *
DOCTOR KOH (can play early 30’s) A head injury specialist. Expert in her field. Dealt with NIGEL’S case for many years, a friend of the family who oversees his care.
KYLE CANNONING/A CABBIE (can play early 20’s) Documentary filmmaker/interviewer - professional cab driver
* To be played by two actors, one portraying the character from the period of 1994-1995, and one portraying the character as they are in 2015. To indicate these characters which appear with the date after their name, the early NIGEL will appear in the script as NIGEL’95, whereas the later NIGEL will appear as NIGEL’15
