Scarborough Arts is hiring a part-time Program Manager on a 12-month contract for its 2015/16 EAST Youth Program.

The EAST Program Manager will be responsible for planning and implementing the year-long documentary video and photojournalism program for Scarborough youth aged 16 to 24, and assisting in building capacity around the EAST program to ensure long-term sustainability. Through EAST, Scarborough youth achieve success through the arts, developing skills that will help identify post-secondary and career options. Consequently, this is an ideal position for a knowledgeable and community-minded professional with sound leadership and mentoring skills who is interested in delivering high-quality and impactful arts-for-change community programs.

Responsibilities: Develop outreach strategies to source EAST documentary video and photojournalism program participants, and coordinating the creation and distribution of program marketing communications collateral; source program partners for the EAST Advisory Committee, schedule and coordinate Committee meetings, ensuring active involvement of all stakeholders; coordinate program participant interview, registration and orientation processes; hands-on program planning and administration to achieve objectives, including co-developing the workshop curriculum; overseeing participants' field work; sourcing and hiring lead instructors and workshop leaders; planning and coordinating the intensive community youth-led outreach program; planning and coordinating the final work product celebration and dissemination; regularly monitoring and updating the program budget; implement rigorous individual program impact and evaluation processes, analyzing data that will be the basis for grant reports and EAST program capacity building; and other duties as required to ensure that the EAST program runs efficiently and effectively.

The EAST Program Manager will have the drive to succeed in developing and implementing community-based youth programming that has impact in our communities. The job will be fast-paced and so entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial DNA plus a sense of humour are essential personal attributes, plus skills in innovative youth program development, planning and implementation, and a working knowledge of documentary video and/or photojournalism.
