Shakespeare in the Ruff is currently seeking a new General Manager to lead the organization into its next phase of achievement, and invites applications from passionate and dedicated administrative leaders with experience in arts admin, fundraising, marketing or bookkeeping. This is a part-time position working 10-15 hours per week, with the possibility of extension and expansion pending funding success. The work schedule will vary and will include evenings and weekends. Entering its 5th year, Shakespeare In The Ruff is a Toronto-based theatre company dedicated to establishing an outdoor theatre tradition in the diverse neighbourhoods of the East End.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Board of Directors, and working in partnership with the Artistic Director, the General Manager’s duties include:
o Articulate and realize an administrative vision in reflection of the company’s mandate, mission, and values;
o Research and pursue public and private funding opportunities;
o Represent Shakespeare in the Ruff at meetings and events;
o Organize and lead monthly company meetings;
o Along with the Artistic Director, create and manage the yearly budget and cash flow;
o Manage the accounting and bookkeeping to ensure that approved budgetary guidelines are maintained;
o Board relations and reporting;
o Manage all human resource functions in consultation with the Artistic Director;
o Board relations and reporting;

o Issue all summer contracts in consultation with the Artistic Director;
o Support summer production, and act as one of the key liaisons to all producing partners;
o Manage the Theatre’s information systems; and
o Other duties as required
