Funded in part by a generous grant from the George Cedric Metcalf Foundation, the Art of Time Ensemble is seeking a Producer to work with the Artistic and Executive Directors in planning and executing our subscription season at the Harbourfront Centre

Organization Description

Art of Time Ensemble

Art Of Time Ensemble was formed in 1997 by artistic director Andrew Burashko, a renowned Toronto-based concert pianist, as an outlet for his vision to explore the intersection between high art and popular culture. With the support of a small group of like-minded musicians, as well as prominent figures in other art forms including literature, dance and theatre, Andrew presented one-off concerts to small but enthusiastic audiences. Word of the Art of Time began to spread through Toronto’s cultural scene, and the company has become a beacon of groundbreaking multi-disciplinary performing art.

Recent highlights include:

• The presentation of a classically-infused interpretation of The Beatles’ landmark Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, touring to 26 US. cities in 2015 and 2016, and appearing with Canada's leading orchestras
• The 2013 presentation of Songbook 7: Madeleine Peyroux with Decca Records recording artist and jazz-pop superstar Madeleine Peyroux
• The 2014 recital Branford Marsalis & Andrew Burashko featuring one of the world’s legendary saxophonists Branford Marsalis

• Songbook collaborations with Canadian theatre luminary Brent Carver in 2015 and the brilliant Hawksley Workman in 2016
• The release of four Art Of Time Ensemble records: Live In Toronto (2006), Black Flowers (a collaboration with Sarah Slean) (2009) and A Singer Must Die (a collaboration with Steven Page) (2010) and Sgt. Pepper (2013), a live recording of the 2012 Toronto concert
