Presented by the Al & Malka Green Artists' Health Centre, in collaboration with Suzanne Fitzpatrick and Studio Po
Iyengar Yoga is the first in a NEW series of movement workshops that will be taking place in the Al & Malka Green Artist Health Centre's studio space.
Iyengar Yoga is based strongly in the classical art form of Hatha Yoga. Students are encouraged to become aware of many aspects of their being throughout the practice, from their physical alignment to the state of their senses. This inwardly directed process has a profound effect on artists, as they direct their attention away from the external world and access the reflective aspect of themselves. Through the fascinating process of practicing Iyengar Yoga, participants become observers of themselves at a most deep level. This, in turn, has a calming effect on their minds and emotions.
Facilitator: Suzanne Fitzpatrick
Suzanne holds an advanced Iyengar certification and has been teaching Iyengar Yoga for 20 years. She is a former professional ballerina with The National Ballet of Canada.
