Mixed Company Theatre is bringing back their popular Forum Theatre workshops this July!

Theatre for Action is our week-long series of intensive workshops conducted by renowned Forum Theatre creator and Mixed Company Theatre Artistic Director Simon Malbogat. The techniques of Forum Theatre facilitation are transferable to a wide range of community engagement arts initiatives. Theatre for Action participants will receive the skills to become better facilitators, artists, community leaders, and more socially-aware educators.

Introduction to Forum Theatre [July 7th, 2017 | 10-5 PM | $100+HST]
Suitable for all ages and abilities, this introductory workshop is designed to strengthen community activation and trust-building through interactive exercises developed from the fundamentals of creating Forum Theatre images. In this workshop, participants will hone their storytelling and image building techniques and explore how different styles of presenting multiple perspectives can aid positive problem solving.

Masks of Manipulation [July 10th and 11th, 2017 | 10-5 PM | $180+HST]
An invaluable tool for character development and conflict-resolution created by instructor Simon Malbogat, the “Masks of Manipulation” utilizes masks inspired by Commedia dell’ Arte to help define our recognition of different emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual manipulative energies. The participants in this workshop will acquire an acute analysis of manipulation and oppression: how and why it happens, and what to do about it.

Facilitator/Joker Training [July 12th to 14th, 2017 | 10-5 PM | $270+HST]
In this intensive on Forum Theatre facilitation, participants will become well acquainted with the process of developing Forum Theatre scenarios and be able to identify the key questions to catalyze your spectators into action. The instructor will create a safe, unique, and supportive environment to help participants become more alert to their own and others' negative patterns and to refine their ability to become a more effective and neutral facilitator.

**Discounts and bursaries available for students and CAEA members!**
**Special discounted rate of $500.00+HST for ALL three workshops!**
