Re:Current Theatre’s Open Artist Share – a place to explore and hone your craft with other emerging artists – continues its Winter session as a resident company in hub14’s Community Chest.
Physical Approaches to Theatre
with guest artists Sebastian Samur & Cornelia Audrey
Sunday, February 28th 1pm-4pm
Location: hub14 Studio (14 Markham St, Toronto)
Join us for an exploration in physical theatre. Sebastian and Cornelia met in Italy this past summer at the "Jerzy Grotowski Workcenter" where they completed the Summer Intensive. They are now bringing inspiration back to Canada from not only the work they studied at the Workcenter, but will be combining a variety of inspirations from both of their physical studies within theatre.
Cost: Pay-What-You-Will (suggested $10 or more)
If you would like to join us, email email@example.com to introduce yourself and to reserve a spot and we’ll send you further details about the day.
ABOUT SEBASTIAN SAMUR
Sebastian Samur is a performer and doctoral student at the Centre for Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies (University of Toronto). His primary interest is actor training and its various manifestations. This has led him to train with various companies, including SITI Company, Odin Teatret, Roy Hart Theatre, the Dairakudakan butoh troupe, and, most recently with Thomas Richards and the Grotowski Workcentre. Sebastian is also interested in intermedial theatre, which he explores through the university’s Digital Dramaturgy Lab.
ABOUT CORNELIA AUDREY
Cornelia Audrey is a graduate from the Theatre and Drama Studies Program at Sheridan College and the University of Toronto. She has a background in movement training and most recently studied in Italy this summer with the Grotowski Workcentre. Cornelia works with Re:Current Theatre as the Artistic Outreach Coordinator, helping with the OAS every month. When she is not working with Re:Current, Cornelia spends her time as an actress predominantly in film and is also the creator of her own documentary webseries, HappyHer, documenting what makes women happy around the world. She is working now with Sebastian to bring what she’s learned abroad and in Toronto about physical theatre to the Open Artist Share.
We’re looking forward to collaborating with you!
