Monday September 21st, 2015
6pm to 8pm
Theatre Ontario Boardroom,
Suite 350, 401 Richmond Street West
Are you thinking of signing? Already signed but don’t understand the fine print?
You don’t need to be a lawyer to understand contracts! If you work (or plan to work) in both live performance and recorded media, you must navigate the agreements between different unions – and we’re here to help. Join us for a joint presentation from Arden R. Ryshpan, the Executive Director of Canadian Actor’s Equity Association and Indra Escobar, the Director of Member Services for Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists. They will discuss the various types of reciprocal agreements, the benefits of joining, and the best time to sign. You will gain a practical understanding of contracts, and be able to answer questions like:
• What are reciprocal agreements and how do they affect my career?
• What happens when I join – what changes?
• What are the rules for apprentices vs. full members?
• What projects am I allowed to do?
