Learn to eliminate stigma and barriers for blind or low vision actors and audiences through education and awareness

Expand acceptance, inclusion and accommodation of blind or low vision people in main stream theatre. Participants will have the opportunity of learning about blindness and vision impairment, engage in a hands on assignment and develop techniques to accommodate blind and low vision actors through:

- reviewing the definition and measurement of vision, and examples of types of blindness
- participating in a Lateral Thinking Quiz
- Experiencing a practical exercise
- evaluating the potential of Blind and vision impaired actors
- creating a list of ideas for making accommodations to facilitate their inclusion in main stream theatre

Participants will be provided with a number of resource materials and will gain valuable knowledge and insight respecting the potential of these actors. This workshop is designed for main stream actors, directors, playwrights, theatre group executives, funding organizations anyone interested in participating with or supporting blind and low vision actors.

Bring an open mind. Be prepared to engage with others and have fun!
