What does TOnight do?

What's On
TOnight's main function is to provide the user with a listing of all the productions coming up or currently on stage in Toronto. Included on the show information screen is:

  • Running dates
  • Venue
  • Genre
  • Description
  • Information on intermission
  • Age appropriateness
  • Accessibility
  • Cast information

On the show information screen there are links to purchasing hipTIX tickets and your company online box office (See List Your Production above). From this screen the user can also favourite a show, which is then added to their My Guide, or share the show link through SMS/iMessage, email, or social media.

My Guide
If the user wishes to save a particular show for quick reference later on, clicking the star icon on the show screen will save the show to the My Guide section. This creates a personalized "theatre guide" for the user.

Theatre Map
Included in TOnight is a virtual theatre map of all the venues in Toronto along with any temporary venues listed in your Show Registration form. Users can easily find a specific venue on the map using the search function located at the bottom of the screen. If they are in the Downtown Yonge BIA area, restaurants, hotels, and special venues will also be listed on the map. This is a pilot project with the BIA. If the venue has a website that has been included in the database, the user will be able to link to it by tapping on the venue pin and bringing up more information. The map will geo-locate the user's position (if given permission to use the GPS).
