Advocacy, News.

Good afternoon TAPA members, TAPA has been advocating on behalf of the membership for many months regarding regulatory fairness. The news of the ‘emergency brake’ announced on April 1 and third state of emergency announced yesterday have effectively shut down all of the TAPA membership activities. In our communications today we are working with our colleagues at the Canadian Live Music Association (CLMA) and Orchestras Canada and writing directly to the Ministers of Health and Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade at the province of Ontario. Our letter is an urgent plea requesting regulatory fairness. Please see attached.

We encourage all of you to write parallel letters to the same Ministers.

Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, Honourable Victor Fedeli: MEDJCT.Minister@ontario.ca

Minister of Health, Honourable Christine Elliott:christine.elliott@ontario.ca

Please c.c. Jacoba Knaapen (jacobak@tapa.ca) on communications.

Thank you everyone for your ongoing strength and resilience in these brutal times.

Jacoba Knaapen
Executive Director, Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA)
