We are pleased to announce that, thanks to a generous donation, the 24 Hour Playwriting Contest will be moving ahead in early 2021 with funding to support the artists involved in the program.
Fringe's former Executive Director, Gideon Arthurs (now CEO of the National Theatre School), wished to make a gift to Fringe in honour of his mother who recently passed away.
From current Executive Director, Lucy Eveleigh: "We are so happy to be moving forward with one of our most cherished contests and giving artists something fun to look forward to in 2021. I want to say a huge thank you to Gideon and his family for this gift and his generosity."
Supported in memory of Penny Arthurs, the 24 Hour Playwriting Contest will offer cash bursaries to the winning playwright(s), as well as first and second runners up, honorariums to a jury made up of local indie artists and volunteers, and funds to support an online reading of the winning script.
We look forward to sharing more details about this program in the coming months, but you may find some key info on our website.
