Substrakt specialize in working with arts and cultural organizations making audience-centred marketing, donation, subscription, and ecommerce applications.
The new office will support Canadian and North American arts organizations to deliver digital work and raise funding, at a time when the future of the arts and culture industry is under threat.
Innovation is key to survival and Substrakt have embraced this, evolving their own business from designing and developing custom websites to developing digital products. These products have been developed to help arts organizations and venues leverage all the avenues available to increase donations, monetize digital activity and encourage audience loyalty.
Like many, MCC Theater in Hell’s Kitchen, New York was forced to radically rethink how to reach audiences during Covid-19. Having worked with them to create a new website previously, MCC approached Substrakt to develop a way to share their online content ideas while earning revenue. Collaborating closely with MCC Theater on what audiences would need, Substrakt developed an ‘On Demand’ platform which integrated with MCC’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform (Spektrix).
The new application, called Showcase, is now a simple to use application that is available to all arts organisations. Showcase is unique, it integrates with multiple CRM systems and can also stand-alone, while keeping audiences within the organization’s website portal.
Molly Barson, Digital Marketing Manager with MCC Theater said:
“I cannot begin to sing Substrakt’s praises enough. When Covid-19 closed our doors in March 2020 we knew we had to adapt quickly to a digital world. We approached Substrakt, who we had worked with before, and asked them how they could help us create an ‘on demand’ site for our digital content. It was a short time from the idea to launch, but because of the team at Substrakt the process was manageable and straightforward. Working with the right partner on innovative projects that take you out of your comfort zone cannot be overstated and we will definitely work with Substrakt again.”
Next year Substrakt will launch an e-commerce application that will enable arts organisations and venues to significantly improve the experience involved in purchasing tickets and memberships online. They are working with clients in the UK and Scandinavia to develop the product before the roll out early in 2021.
