In 2015, we launched the Community Meal. It all started when a member of the team, Remington North, wanted to share his love of cooking by making ramen for the staff.
The next month, we opened the lunch up to the world and word got out; we soon started selling out of food, running out of seats, and had a line-up long before the 1:00pm start time.
These meals have been an opportunity for staff, neighbours, artists, and friends to gather and connect over a delicious home cooked meal. Many of you have probably joined us for ribs, or lasagna, or at our latest BBQ. Some of you have even hosted a meal (thanks for the delicious lunch!). In the last three years these gatherings have become a real highlight around here.
Now, the funding has run out and we have been forced to put things on hold. But you can help SAVE THE COMMUNITY MEAL!
All you have to do is vote for our project in the Aviva Community Fund. Simply register online and then use all ten of your votes. If we get enough votes we’ll win $10,000 and can keep the Community Meals running!
