Auditions to be held Friday, March 23rd in downtown Toronto

CASTING: Carmilla at The Toronto Fringe and Carmilla at the Montreal Fringe Festival, presented by Pointed Cap Playhouse and in association with the team that brought you Lysistrata (Toronto Fringe 2017).

Carmilla is a stage adaptation of the Gothic novella by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu, one of the earliest works of vampire fiction. This adaptation is an exploration of queer sexuality, notions of gender and sexual agency through striptease and horror! This 90 minute show will take place in a Victorian world, with burlesque, cabaret, music, dance and audience immersion elements.
Pointed Cap Playhouse is committed to diverse, inclusive casting and welcomes submissions from artists of all backgrounds and gender identities

Time Commitments
Montreal Fringe: May 30th-June 9th
Toronto Fringe: July 4th-15th
Rehearsals to begin late March.

Casting a male presenting person with a strong movement or dance background. Please prepare a short (approx 1min) song and movement piece to any portion of Kill the Beast (
Plus a 2-3 minute Victorian Era (1800’s) monologue (comedic or dramatic).
You may also be asked to read sides.
