Audition, Industry Listing.

Shadowtime Productions is seeking 6 bold, confident and fearless actors (3M, 3F) for an original, semi-experimental horror stage show in Toronto.

Strong theatre background strongly preferred, dance/movement training and/or experience a plus. Payment includes rehearsal stipend ($200), guaranteed performance pay ($100/weekend) and profit share. Union/Non-union (CAEA Artists' Collective agreement anticipated).

The performance (approx 65-70 min) will consist of a HIGHLY CHOREOGRAPHED series of short, interconnected, horror-themed scenes and tableaux, as well as a synchronized video component for some sections. All performers will need to play multiple human and “monster” roles, often in very dim light or darkness. The show script is still in development, performers will be instrumental in creating the final product. Some non-sexual nudity/semi-nudity may be requested, but not required.

Actors of all nationalities, ethnicities, ages and genders are encouraged to apply; fans of the horror genre are especially encouraged. Please note this project is in the mould of traditional stage performances, and is not a “haunt” or fully immersive production, nor does it involve direct interactions with the audience.

Auditions will be scheduled BY APPOINTMENT ONLY on Saturday April 15 and Sunday April 16 from 10am to 5pm. Callbacks will be the following Saturday April 22, from 12 noon to 6pm. Please note we are only able to see actors who we have seen and called back during the callback times. Due to the nature of the project, we are unable to accept video submissions.

Rehearsals begin mid-August with performances beginning mid-September. Rehearsals will be scheduled per mutual convenience and availability. Some exploratory rehearsals will be scheduled June-July based on availability. Performances will run Thur eves @ 7:30pm, Fri & Sat eves at 7:30 & 9:30pm (5 perfs/week) for at least 8 weeks. Venue TBD (intimate performance space, 35-40 seats).
