Happy Family is a character based drama playing at the Franco Boni Theatre in the Theatre Centre at the Toronto Fringe.
The festival runs July 5 -13, and rehearsals will begin in early June.
Elevator Pitch. A social worker, a business exec, and a guy who lives in the basement, all walk into a park. Their Mom is missing, and they all want to get her safely back to the seniors’ home … or do they? Full of secrets, lies and manipulation, this is just another Happy Family.
And here are the characters we are auditioning for:
Lindsay - female 35-45 eldest of three siblings, a social worker recently separated from her wife. She is compassionate, hyper responsible, but somewhat jaded by too many sad stories and years of working in the system.
Roland – male 35-45, youngest sibling. Had a hypoxic brain injury at birth, so is somewhat developmentally delayed and has some behavioural issues. He loves birds and the outdoors. Roland only ever lived with his parents in the family home, and has never had a job other than at a sheltered workshop.
How to apply:
