Audition, Industry Listing.

Deadline: February 20, 2020

One Act Comedic Drama Bygone
To be performed at the 2020 Toronto Fringe Festival
CAEA / Non-Union

A woman returns to the top of the cliff that has been her refuge since her teens with her new boyfriend. Just as he’s about to pop the question, her estranged ex-girlfriend arrives to put a stop to the engagement.

Told in three interspersed timelines, this play touches on themes of relationship nostalgia, bi-erasure/bi-invisibility and unapologetically embracing self.

This is playwright and director Lauren Greenwood’s sophomore production after her critically acclaimed, award-winning play An Atlas, A Necktie & Other Concerns premiered at the 2019 Toronto Fringe Festival.

  • FRANKIE, female, bisexual, ages 16, 25 and 30 in three different timelines. Her quick wit deflects from her struggle to open up. Loves word games. Ghosting is her idea of conflict resolution. All ethnicities encouraged.
  • JUSTINE, female, lesbian, 21 and 26 in two different timelines. Brash and funny, honest to a fault, loves unabashedly but is quick to cut out toxic relationships. All ethnicities encouraged.
  • WYATT, male, straight, 35, always sticks to the plan even when things do not go according to it. Tendency to be overly cautious except when it comes to love. All ethnicities encouraged.

Compensation: Profit share model based on festival profits.
