If you would like to be part of a 60 minute dramatic character-driven Fringe play that reflects the diversity of Toronto and explores human nature as well as relevant and interesting social justice topics than look no further!
We are casting for our play that tells the story of 4 very diverse people who are held hostage in the backroom of a corner store in downtown Toronto. This newly formed group need to work together to survive. The description of the roles are as follows:
Christina – 55, Female lawyer. She is a lesbian who recently lost her life partner to cancer. She is feisty, passionate and intelligent with a dry and cynical sense of humor.
Shira – 22, female student who had served in the Israeli military. She is new to Toronto and has an Israeli accent. She is direct takes charge. Under her rough angry exterior hides a tender heart.
Jenn – 35, female single mother of two young kids, works double shifts for low pay, struggles to make ends meet. Kind and caring, overworked and underpaid.
Lawrence – 30, male originally from Barbados. He is an aspiring filmmaker. He is an optimist and a good hearted romantic soul. Lawrence adores his wife who is pregnant with their first son.
Auditions will take place on April 11 and April 12. You must be available for rehearsals from the end of April to the end of June. Performances will be from June 29 – July 10. Looking forward to hearing from you!
