Audition: Friday, July 19th, 2019 1:30pm - 7:30pm
Summoning all creatures of darkness, cultists, witches, ghouls, goblins and monsters under the bed to help us host a party. The last party, perhaps. The party at the end of the world.
Aberrant Theatre returns with the second instalment of the Ghost Light Anthology; a brand new night of horror emerging this October. This year we are looking to cast an ensemble that will work collectively to create the show from the ground up.
Under the direction of Jordi O’Dael, the ensemble will build a piece of horror theatre specific to the venue & based around one question: how does one survive cataclysm? The show is intended to draw heavily from the Lovecraftian tradition of cosmic horror, and the terror of the unknown. The process will involve devising text and staging through a determined skeleton of key events, and developing characters through exploration of genre archetypes.
Experience with devised theatre or collective creation is an asset, but not required.
Roles are open to artists of any gender (or lack thereof.) We particularly encourage submissions from artists of colour; queer, trans, and nonbinary artists; artists of different abilities; and all artists from underrepresented communities.
Union/Non-Union (under CAEA Artists Collective Agreement)
Regular rehearsals will begin mid September. A short workshop period will occur early August pending cast availability. This show will operate under a profit share model.
