This is a Non-Union theatre production, the play will perform at the Toronto's Fringe Festival 2018 (running from July 4th to July 15th). Rehearsals will run from April through June.
Storyline: A controversial love story between PAULA (15yrs) and BETO (26yrs). BETO is a theatre director of a small amateur theatre company in a small town in Mexico. There he meets Paula and starts having a relationship with her despite him already having a long-term girlfriend, MARTINA.
The roles we are casting have a HISPANIC background, however we are opening the casting to ALL ETHNICITIES :
ALEXIA: Hispanic/Latina. Mid 20's. PAULA's close friend and BETO's ex- lover. ALEXIA finds herself in a struggle with her morals when she finds about BETO and PAULA. ALEXIA is honest and loyal. She feels guilty for helping PAULA with BETO despite knowing is wrong.
OFELIA/MARTINA (both characters are played by the same actor):
OFELIA; In her 30's. Caseworker assigned to PAULA. She is passionate about helping others.
MARTINA; Hispanic/Latina. Mid 20's. BETO's girlfriend. Comes from a wealthy family, daddy's little princess lives in her own bubble where everything is fun, easy and fixable with money.
