Good Old Neon's Toronto Fringe piece will be a theatrical exploration of selected pieces of Daniil Kharms' short prose spliced with meta-theatrical commentaries on the politics of art making.
This will be filtered through the lens of his life as an absurdist artist under the structures of the Soviet government throughout the 1930s.
For the auditions we will be asking performers to prepare a short piece (max 5 minutes) - with or without text - based on one of the following three stories listed below. Be creative, take risks,...we are not looking for a naturalistic telling of the 'story'.
