Plot Synopsis: Lexi is eager to enter a project in the school science fair, but she needs a great topic, a willing partner, and an expanded skill set. Yaya’s sister, back in Cyprus, is about to have surgery and Yaya would dearly love to see her again.
- Lexi, age 9, an inquisitive, dyslexic girl with a passion for science and running
- Yaya, in her 70’s, an award-winning beekeeper with great ideas but communication problems
- Max, age 9, a newcomer to Lexi’s class and also a runner, who is extremely shy
** The roles of Lexi and Max will be played by young adults.
Lexi and the Flying b’s will run at George Ignatieff Theatre as part of Kidsfest at the Toronto Fringe, July 3-14. Rehearsal will begin in late May and continue through June. The show will be operating under Equity’s Artist Collective Agreement and will be a profit share among all artists involved.
