MACBETH HIP HOP REDUX, developed by Michael Kelly and Marcel Stewart
SIA is developing an original adaptation of the Scottish play, written in Rap to be presented as a Mainstage production at the Artscape Weston Common in November. We are looking to engage actors with experience in Shakespeare and Rap/Spoken Word for a two week script development workshop in September 2019, and a rehearsal + production process in November 2019.
Actors are asked to submit a headshot and resume to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line "YourName_MBHipHop" by June 21st, 2019. Auditions will be held June 24th and June 26th, 2019.
For the audition, actors will be asked to prepare Sonnet 18 as a monologue. We then ask you bring a beat, and speak the sonnet to the rhythm. Actors may be asked to cold read at the audition.
