Audition, Industry Listing.

Quarter Century Theatre (QCT) is Collingwood's premiere contemporary theatre company.

Committed to producing bold, engaging work in unique, site-specific locations, QCT just wrapped up its highly successful inaugural production of David French's Salt-Water Moon and we are now looking forward to our spring show!

Palace of the End is a gripping, unapologetic examination of the Iraq war. Following three dynamic, compelling characters based on real people who lived through the war from its early stages in the 1960s through to the US and British campaigns in the early 2000s, this play is fierce, raw and highly relevant. QCT will be presenting this production at the Collingwood Brewery in April and is seeking to cast two (2) of the three (3) roles.

DR. DAVID KELLY- Male, age 50-70. Welsh/British microbiologist and weapons expert for the Ministry of Defence in the early 2000s.

NEHRJAS AL SAFFARH- Female, age 35-50. Iraqi mother and leader of the resistance during the Gulf War.

Since each of these characters are is based off of real historical figures, familiarity with their real life stories as well as the play is strongly encouraged. Those selected for an audition will be asked to present one monologue (max 3 minutes) as well as to present a short original piece on 'guilt and regret'. This can be a dance, a poem, a song, a painting or anything of the artist's choosing. The only stipulation is that it must be original.

AUDITION DATES: March 1st-5th. Callbacks March 10th-12th. Locations TBD.
PERFORMANCE DATES: April 26th-29th. Four (4) evening shows + one (1) matinee on the 29th.
