Audition, Industry Listing.

Deadline: Saturday Nov. 9, 2019

Bad Hats Theatre is seeking actor submissions for our newest work for young audiences, Princess Frownsalot, presented by Roseneath Theatre, touring to schools throughout the GTA in April/May of 2020.

About the Project: Princess Frownsalot is the story of a theatre troupe faced with the challenge of performing under trying circumstances when their star loses their voice, or so they say, and they have to work as a team to invent something completely original. This piece is a fast paced comedy that explores the cost of leaving our anxieties unexpressed or unexplored, and the remarkable joy that can be found in learning to articulate our feelings. This play will be presented to elementary aged students grades K-4 throughout the week with public performances on the weekend.

  • LEROY: Manager, producer, and playwright of the troupe. Definitely in charge and won't let you forget it. Passionate, stubborn, a fan of form and tradition.

  • CHARLIE: The star of the troupe. Incredibly charming and funny, well, on most days. Today anxiety is getting in the way of what usually comes easy to them.
  • KORI: The newest member of the troupe. This is their first show. Eager, highly inventive, has something to prove.
