AUDITION: ‘THIRTEEN HANDS’, written by Carol Shields and directed by Claren Grosz, will be performed on the Alumnae Theatre’s Main Stage from October 20th through November 4th, 2017.
Thirteen Hands is a witty and vibrant play-cum-musical that explores the nuances of life and womanhood. One of Alumnae’s most revered and successful premières, Thirteen Hands returns as part of the theatre company’s 100th anniversary retrospective series. It follows the lives of four women, along with their daughters and granddaughters, who find connection and support through a weekly game of bridge.
The play features a group of 9 diverse women from many generations who will play multiple bit parts in addition to one main role. We strongly encourage women of all backgrounds to apply.
We are currently looking to cast the following roles:
Clara (Age 70-80)
Four women aged 40-60 (The Edge of Nighters)
Four women aged 20-40 (The Granddaughters)
Auditions will take place on Sunday, July 9th 12 - 6 pm & Monday, July 10th 5 – 10 pm.
E-mail your headshot and resume to firstname.lastname@example.org and indicate your preferred audition time.
Candidates selected to audition will be contacted and asked to prepare a short (2-3 min.) contemporary comedic monologue. Sides will also be provided.
Auditions will be held at the Alumnae Theatre, 70 Berkeley Street (SW corner of Berkeley and Adelaide)
