Audition, Industry Listing.

Deadline: 11:59 PM, January 1st, 2020

The Deadman’s Tale is a Post-Apocalyptic Canadian Western podcast play created and written by Tom Craig. A beaten-down bounty hunter relates his story to the last person left to hear it: the guard outside his prison cell. Gunfights, blood money, scum and villainy abound across the shattered remains of Southern Ontario, and we need your help to tell it true. We are currently looking for voice actors who’d like a chance to wander the wastes with us. Whether you’re an old hand behind the mic, or just getting your start, we’d love to hear what you’ve got.

If you’re interested, follow this link to see which characters we’re lookin’ for right now. Please note, the sides contain adult language:
Character Sides Here

Nab the sides you’d like to read from and get recording! You can try out for as many or as few characters as you like and, with a couple of exceptions, these characters are open to anybody. Race, age, gender identity are all open to interpretation, so read away and have fun with it! Please slate with your name and the character you’re reading for beforehand. If you want to try changing your voice for a character, go for it! Just make sure to slate with your regular voice first.

Finally, we ask that you do not include a headshot with your submission. One of the best things about voice acting is that the casting folks aren’t concerned with appearances (and you can perform in fluffy slippers, but I digress). Your pipes are what will drive this story along, and that’s all we need.

Deadline: 11:59 PM, January 1st, 2020
File type: must be MP3 (if you need to convert to MP3 format, we recommend using Audacity - available for free at This Link )
If auditioning for multiple characters: please send all sides as separate files
Compensation: this is a non-union, non-paying gig. Meals will be provided for each meeting or recording date.
Please send to: with subject line "Your Name - Audition – Character Name"

If cast, recording sessions will be taking place in the Greater Toronto Area.

In short, have fun, be bold, and let your post-apocalyptic side ride.
This ain’t no place for no heroes, but we figure you’ll fit in just fine.
