Pure Carbon announces open auditions for our upcoming production Experiment #6: Private Lives by Noel Coward. Directed by Alex Kentris & Katy Murphy.

ABOUT THE SHOW
Private Lives is a comedy of manners that shows off Noel Coward’s signature wit and charm. The story concerns a separated couple (Amanda & Elyot) who, while on vacation with their new partners (Victor & Sybil, respectively), discover that they are staying in adjacent rooms at the same resort. In our interpretation we delve deeply into the sexual politics of the play, examining the crazy things we do for love and the necessary role that sex plays in our relationships. We watch as the characters dive headfirst into the often messy world of kink, fetish and sexual preference, and ask the question: Do we have to be the same person to each new partner? How much of our past do we have to reveal to make things work?
The production runs June 15th-18th, 2017 at Kensington Hall (56 Kensington Ave). Rehearsals will begin May 7th, 2017 and will be twice a week (usually Sunday evenings and Wednesday afternoons). This is a profit-share opportunity.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re casting the following roles:

  • Elyot (late 20s-early 30s, artistic, charming, and a little abrasive)
  • Victor (Amanda’s new partner, late 20s, preppy, polished and a little uptight)
  • Sybil (Elyot’s new partner, early 20s, optimistic, fresh, and a little naive)

We encourage performers of all genders, ethnicities, and age to audition for any roles they connect with.
