Osia a new play by Jijo Quayson

Osia is the story of a Ghanaian family who struggles to find a better future. The youngest of the family, Harmosia, straddles two worlds- real and fantasy- as she tries to understand her surroundings. The play uses Ghanaian language, traditional music, storytelling and imagined folklore to weave together the story of "Osia" and the eccentric neighbours that surround her family.
We are looking for black male and female actors 30 + years of age for the following roles (Union and Non-union actors are welcome):
Mama: Adult woman. Mother to Harmosia and works as house-help for a wealthy family.
Uncle: Adult male. Traveler and businessman. Uncle to Harmosia.
Audition Date: Monday, May 30th, 6-8pm
Rehearsals: 60-80 hours of rehearsal.
June 10 and 24, and July 8: Workshop rehearsals (four hours each)
July 11-15: 12 hours of rehearsal total (evening hours)
July 18-29: 20 hours of rehearsal per week (four hours/night, Monday-Friday)
July 31: Full day of rehearsal
August 1-5: TBA
