OPEN CALL: Saturday March 5th and Sunday March 6th, 2016.
Canada’s Wonderland is seeking non-union performers for our shows for the summer 2016 season. Interested applicants should have related experience and formal training.
Roles Available (Part Time and Full Time Opportunities):
SHOW HOST: We are looking for a strong singer (male or female) who is comfortable improvising and interacting with children. As the only speaking character, applicants must be able to maintain a high energy, engaging performance. Performers should be comfortable dancing and taking on a leadership role. Please come prepared with an up-tempo song in a pop and/or musical-theatre style. An accompanist will be provided. Bring sheet music in the proper key or pre-recorded instrumental tracks (without lead vocals) on CD. You may be asked to read a brief monologue and to dance, so bring appropriate clothes and shoes for movement.
SHOW CHARACTERS: We are looking for energetic, technically trained dancers to portray Snoopy and the Peanuts Characters! You must be 4’7” – 5’4” and comfortable working in a character costume. Please come prepared in comfortable clothing and footwear.
STREET PERFORMERS: We're seeking improvisational performers that bring a unique quality or special talent such as juggling, stilt walking, close-up magic or other busker-related skill to enhance each guest’s enjoyment of their visit by entertaining them on the streets as they travel through the park. Please come prepared to demonstrate your unique skill by providing your own props and anything else you need to showcase your talent.
