Submissions for Weesageechak Begins to Dance 28 will be accepted until THURSDAY APRIL 30TH.

So you have lots of time to put together an application to develop your play, dance piece or inter-disciplinary work at our annual new works and development festival!

The 28th annual Weesageechak Begins to Dance Festival, November 9 – 22, 2015, is a celebration of new works and works in development. Native Earth selects dance, theatre and inter-disciplinary works reflecting Indigenous performing arts in Canada and internationally. We encourage performing artists of all disciplines and at any stage in their career to apply.

Curated by a selection committee, each selected piece receives dramaturgical/directorial support, rehearsal time and a public showing. Please note that while the focus and content of the work is not limited, in order for a submission to be considered the primary artist or artists must identify as Indigenous.
