Niagara's award-winning theatre for young audiences, Carousel Players, is pleased to invite applications for the full-time position of Artistic Director to start in January 2018.

For 45 years Carousel Players has created compelling, challenging, and entertaining theatre for young audiences that reflects their stories and dreams. We are committed to the development of new work and have a reputation for bringing the best of contemporary theatre for young audiences to schools, theatres, and festivals across Canada.
The Artistic Director’s primary function is to articulate and execute Carousel Players’ artistic programming and strategic planning within sound fiscal guidelines. The Artistic Director is accountable for all artistic programming and is responsible for all elements of performance and production for Carousel Players. A detailed job description is available upon request.
You should have a proven ability to successfully select and develop programming for young audiences; cultivate and compose teams of playwrights, designers, and actors; and guide and inspire artists, technicians, staff, and Board members. You may have experience providing directorial and/or dramaturgical support to new work development. You are a director or artistic director who has experience working in small to mid-size theatres. Short-listed candidates may be asked to present their programming ideas for a season. Candidates must be willing to relocate to the Niagara region.
