TIFF is dedicated to presenting the best of international and Canadian cinema to film lovers in our home TIFF Bell Lightbox. Our aim is to become a creative community and global leader, and one of the world’s premiere organizations in the discovery and understanding of film.

Reporting to the Senior Booth Manager, the Assistant Booth Manager will be responsible for managing day-to-day technical booth operations for all Cinemas within TIFF | Bell Lightbox. This includes the technical coordination and supervision of screenings and events, ensuring the highest presentation experience standards are met. We are interested in applicants with solid motion picture projection knowledge and experience, with a strong aptitude for live-event and digital technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Supervising film and video presentations, including the troubleshooting and handling of technical emergencies
● Technical co-ordination/set-up of live events
● Preparation of video content for cinema projection
● Supervision of technical staff, including Projectionists and Revisors
● Coordinating day-to-day Booth/Master Control operations
● Upholding established technical standards and operating principles
● Communicating technical information to other technical staff in a timely manner
● Liaising with film representatives to facilitate the best possible presentation
● Daily inventory management of screening materials
● Preparing daily technical reports
● Liaising with Technical Production, Film & Digital Print Services, Programming, Digital Studio, and Event Production teams
● Controlling access to technical areas
● Booth organization, maintenance and upkeep

CONTRACT DATES OR START DATE: November 13, 2017

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
● Extensive knowledge of digital cinema (DCP) playback and Dolby cinema sound systems
● Ability to perform general troubleshooting and maintenance on projection, sound, and lighting equipment
● Experience with live event production systems, including:
o Lighting control consoles, knowledge of DMX addressing and protocols
o Live audio consoles, specifically digital audio consoles – e.g. DiGiCo series
o Video production switchers and routing / standards conversion systems
o Video codecs and video image processing via displays and project
