Theatre Gargantua is recruiting 2 post-secondary students for the roles of Publicity & Community Outreach Coordination and Producing Assistant.

These roles are funded by Canada Summer Jobs.

Internship 1 - Producing Assistant
Working with the Producer, the candidate will receive on-the-job mentoring and experience in producing independent theatre and managing an independent theatre company. The Producing Assistant will assist with producing and community relations work for the upcoming season, specifically:
Assisting the Producer across all areas of producing
Assist the Producer in fundraising and event coordination
Research potential new funding partners -- foundations, corporate, and private supporters
Assist with industry outreach for upcoming productions
Assist with maintaining company database
Assist with preparation of education support material
Assist with Special Event planning
Assist with preparation of education support material
Assist with managing volunteers
Assist with operation of the production office
Other administration as required

Internship 2 - Publicity and Outreach Coordinator
Working with the Producer, the individual will receive on-the-job mentoring and experience in producing independent theatre and managing an independent theatre company. The Publicity and Community Relations Coordinator will assist with the planning and execution of our marketing and publicity for productions and community outreach programs for the upcoming season, specifically:
Assist with the promotion of productions and programs
Assist in creation and/or editing of media/video elements of new productions.
Assist with researching and developing new community relations for our youth programming.
Research audience trends and new ways to engage audience and participants
Assist with communications with schools and teachers and development of educational material
Assist with copy-writing for newsletters and outreach material
Assist with the maintenance and updates to the company website.
Assist with maintenance of audience and participant databases
Develop new content (copy, images, video), including research, writing, copyediting, fact-checking, and proofreading
Track, analyze, and provide regular reports on site usage and online presence
Perform elated duties as assigned.
