Harbourfront Centre is a Canadian charity operating the 10 prime acres of Toronto's central waterfront as a free and open public site.

Currently an employment opportunity exists in our Cultural Engagement & Activation department for a full time Project Coordinator/ Artistic Associate on a contract basis. The Project Coordinator will work with the Director to ensure processes, deadlines, priorities and excellence in programming is maintained at the highest level and that systems and supports are in place to facilitate/produce the festival season. In addition, the individual will work on some artistic programming for festivals and events.


•Sets and monitors critical paths ensuring all internal and external deadlines are met with festival lead programmers.

•Alerts the director of any concerns promptly and works towards resolution.

•Manages day-to-day operational aspects of the summer festival season.

•Coordinates and chairs all internal and external meetings, sets agendas

•Informs Director of any resource needs.

•Helps to shape the artistic direction and programming theme with Director of CEA and festival leads, monitors on-going processes of programming to ensure priorities are followed through.

•Ensures all Harbourfront Centre policies and procedures are adhered to, project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately.

•Meets with festival teams to review progress, address issues and concerns, review budgets, schedules and programme updates.

•Works closely with festival leads to ensure artistic vision, programming priorities and community connections are clear and coherent.

•Recommends mechanisms to improve systems.

•Participates in festival and season evaluations.

•Works with partners and Harbourfront Centre departments to ensure all programming deadlines are met and priorities realized.

•Ensures festivals are on budget and revenues are maximized through partnerships and other funding opportunities.

•Works as an Artistic Associate and programmes a select number of events to meet the overall artistic vision, priorities and objectives of Harbourfront Centre.

•Manages all administrative tasks associated with programming.

•Liaises with inter- departments, programmers, community partners and groups to ensure staff are informed and current, and that the process of working with Harbourfront Centre is seamless.
