Call for Writers and Creators: Then Speak
As Canada approaches its 150th birthday, we’re looking to examine where we’ve come from and where we are now.
Then Speak is a Toronto-based series of short works that speak to what community means to citizens and residents of Canada.
We’re looking for proposals for pieces in any artistic discipline that relate to the creator’s personal definition of community in relation to one or more of the following themes:
Secrets and Things Forgotten
Selected projects will be workshopped and developed from September 2016 to January 2017. From 2017 onwards, they will be produced by Then They Fight as part of one of six curated nights based on the provided themes.
Proposed pieces can be as short as you want them to be, and as long as 20 minutes.
If you’re interested, send a proposal to firstname.lastname@example.org that includes the following:
- A brief bio of the creator(s)
- A description of your proposed project, which theme(s) it relates to, and which community it relates to (if there is a specific one).
- Your proposed project length
- Any samples of your previous work or work in development that you think support your application
Submissions are due by August 14, 2016.
If you have any questions, shoot us an email!
