Artscape is currently seeking expressions of interest from individual artists, arts groups and not-for-profit arts, cultural and community organizations.
We want to know what you see yourself doing at Artscape Weston Hub and how the space could be designed to facilitate it - What happens in your space and what are your space needs?
Slated to open in late 2018, Artscape Weston Hub will be a dynamic, publicly accessible space enlivened and activated by arts and culture. This new community cultural hub, in the Weston community of Toronto, will have approximately 8,200 square feet of indoor programming space, 12,400 square feet of outdoor programming space, and will provide a platform for arts programming that is accessible to the entire community.
Located in Toronto’s northwest near Weston Road and Lawrence Avenue West, Weston is a community of close to 20,000 people. It has a rich history, dating back over 200 years and historic Weston Village remains at the heart of the community. The neighbourhood is well-connected, served by several TTC bus routes, the conveniently located Weston GO Station and a stop for the Union Pearson Express.
We want to hear from both potential partners within the local community, as well as a broad range of individual artists, arts groups and not-for-profit arts, cultural and community organizations who provide programs from across Toronto's arts community.
Though this Request for Expressions of Interest is not an application for space, it's a great opportunity to get involved in the project at this early, ground-breaking stage. Responses will help us understand the potential programmatic elements and further develop the vision for Artscape Weston Hub.
The deadline to submit your expression of interest is Friday, March 18 at 5:00 p.m. Learn more and submit your Expression of Interest at artscapeweston.ca
