LACE Productions is looking for women of Middle Eastern heritage of all ages to perform in their upcoming SummerWorks Festival production of The Unbelievers.

ABOUT THE PLAY: The Unbelievers is a play about the sex-trafficking of Yazidi women and is a partnership with Yazda, a global Yazidi organization that is leading initiatives to restore the Yazidi community and uplift survivors of the 2014 Yazidi Genocide. More info about the show can be found at:

The Unbelievers

1. Attend a rehearsal on Tuesday, August 2 from 7:00pm-8:00pm
2. Attend a rehearsal on Thursday, August 4 from 4:00-6:00pm (*if you are available this date but only after 6:00pm, please still apply, and let us know your availability*)
3. Participate in performances on the following seven dates:
¥ Friday, August 5, 6:45pm-8:00pm
¥ Saturday, August 6, 10:30pm-11:45pm
¥ Sunday, August 7, 5:15pm-6:30pm
¥ Monday, August 8, 10:30pm-11:45pm
¥ Thursday, August 11, 4:00pm-5:15pm
¥ Saturday, August 13, 12:00pm-1:15pm
¥ Sunday, August 14, 4:45pm-6:00pm

All performances and rehearsal on August 2 take place in Toronto at the BMO Incubator Space at the Theatre Centre (1115 Queen St. West). August 4 rehearsal takes place in Toronto at Artscape Youngplace (180 Shaw Street).

Candidates will be ideally available for all dates, but we may be able to accommodate if your schedule requires missing one or two performances. Let us know your availability in your response.

Performers will go through a series of silent tasks onstage (pouring tea, walking, hand and body gestures, etc.). Though the play is 75 minutes long, the participant involvement is very brief.

Participants will be awarded a modest honorarium as thanks for their participation.
