There is still time to enrol in CDTH 462 Costume Surface Design
This course will acquaint students with the aspects of creating texture and decoration with fabric and trims. Using historical and theatrical methods, students will experiment with creating fabric texture, embellishments and unique yardages. Topics may include the use of dissolvable stabilizers, smocking, slashing, fabric flowers, ribbon work, frogging, applique and incorporating alternative objects into surface design. The course will be delivered as a practical studio lab that will begin with a short lecture and demonstration followed by hands-on exercises.
Scheduling: Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:30 p.m.–9:30 p.m., June 1–22, 2015
