Pencil Kit Productions is proud to launch our collective creation intensive for woman-identifying theatre artists.
The seven day workshop culminates in the presentation of a thirty minute piece as part of Pencil Kit Production’s April Theatrical Showcase. Over the course of the program, participants will work in teams to generate their own work exploring what it is to be a young artist in Toronto using devised, collective creation techniques. In addition to writing, acting, and movement exercises, participants will also participate in workshops that will help them build the tools they will need as self-employed and/or self-producing artists. This is a great opportunity to build your network and empower yourself with the means to create exciting new work.
The goals of the program are to:
- connect female artists with each other, fostering an environment of support rather than competition
- provide an opportunity to learn new skills and challenge the artists’ current practice.
- develop a creative language that will allow women to generate and produce the work they want to see.
- improve confident communication skills.
Dates: May 3-5, 8, 9: 10am-2pm. May 11, 12: 2pm-10pm
