Culture Workers Unwind presented by Hot Docs and the Bloor St. Culture Corridor
Conversation, Career Advice, Cocktails!
First Session: Tuesday June 28th, 4-6 PM, Bloor Hot Docs Cinema, 506 Bloor St. W.
Hot Docs President Chris McDonald will moderate a discussion with Maxine Bailey, Vice-President for Advancement at TIFF, and Mervon Mehta, Executive Director of Performing Arts at the Royal Conservatory of Music. Cocktail hour to follow.
Do you work in the field of arts and culture and want to hear more from the folks who have made this city a cultural hub? In this fun and informative discussion series, you'll learn how some of Toronto's leading professionals in arts and culture built their organizations and careers. You'll hear the lessons they've learned, the mistakes they made, and their advice for young managers and job applicants. They'll share their tips for identifying problems and advancing careers, as well as their strategies for audience development, stewardship and motivating and inspiring colleagues.
Built for those of us working at ALL levels in the arts, culture and non-profit world, this FREE and informal onstage discussion series (with a bar!) will take place monthly at the Bloor Hot Docs Cinema. Each session will feature a moderator and up to 3 industry leaders, and offer candid conversation, practical advice and opportunities to mingle and gossip with other culture professionals. With their lively mixture of professional development and socializing, these sessions will never be dull.
