The “HAP” Peace Fest is a community building and educational initiative.
ALPHA hopes to create a safe and open environment for more community members to be aware of the forgotten history of WWII in Asia and the need for peaceful ways of reconciliation between affected nations. Peace Fest also celebrates the steps individuals are already taking to build a more peaceful and harmonious society.
PEACE FEST encapsulates our passion for social justice and hopes for a brighter future as we shed light on the dark chapters of the history of WWII in Asia. At this unique festival, community members are invited to celebrate the pursuit for reconciliation and sustain their hopeful spirit for peace through various outdoor activities and events such as: chalk art, origami-making, interactive drama performances, art exhibition, arts and craft vendors, diverse food vendors, music performances, and a peace boat ceremony in the evening.
Date: Friday, August 12, 2016
Time: 12:00pm – 9:00pm
