Young Jean Lee’s work is powerfully allusive: each of her plays builds upon reference to an ongoing and difficult debate about identity and representation.
Last year, World Stage audiences examined and debated the complex meanings of the word feminism before seeing UNTITLED FEMINIST SHOW. This year, Lee’s subject is STRAIGHT WHITE MEN — so Denise Cruz and Matt Sergi will initiate another discussion, this time about straight white male privilege: its visibility and its invisibility, from without and within. Each audience participant will be challenged to chime in on her or his own terms — over tea, of course.
Join us for a series of Pre-show Teas with our Harbourfront Centre Scholars-in-Residence. Admission is free with the purchase of a ticket to the opening performance of STRAIGHT WHITE MEN.
