In early June 2019, children, youth, families and educators from across the Greater Toronto Area will gather at the Young People’s Theatre for a very special night of live performance. Not-for-profit arts organization Prologue to the Performing Arts’ Spotlight Prologue – Live Arts for Children and Youth will bring together some of Ontario’s most exciting artists working in schools and communities for a showcase event for the whole family.

At its annual showcase each year, Prologue celebrates the vital role that the performing arts play in inspiring, empowering and sparking the imaginations of children and youth. Featuring new Prologue artists Ballet Creole, Kuné: Canada’s Global Orchestra, Mahlikah Awe:ri, UNITY Charity and hosted by spoken word artist Britta B, Spotlight Prologue - Live Arts for Children and Youth will provide an accessible and engaging opportunity for young people and educators to discover the power of the performing arts. Prologue to the Performing Arts is a charitable, not-for-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of young people by connecting them to high quality live performing arts experiences. With an artist roster of 38 artists and artist companies, Prologue reaches over 500, 000 students every year across Ontario through 1,800 performances and workshops in dance, music, theatre, puppetry, opera, storytelling, and spoken word.
