Inanna: Dance of the Rising Goddess

Celebrating the Goddess Inanna, Joanne Camilleri invites you to audition for the April 2022 production of this ancient Sumerian myth!
Inanna: Dance of the Rising Goddess is a 70 minute, Multi-Media Dance-Musical which takes the audience on a journey to the ancient world of Mesopotamia. This performance will be broadcast for a virtual audience in May of 2022. The show is tentatively planned to tour Malta in the summer of 2022! To abide by provincial and international touring requirements, only fully vaccinated performers are eligible for this opportunity.
 
What we’re looking for:
 
We are looking for circus artists (apparatus work in hoop, & silk) who are interested in the creation process, that are willing to experiment and integrate their form with elements acting, physical theatre, belly dance, and circus elements. You will be doing both circus, and dancing, and we are looking for someone comfortable learning choreography quickly.
 
Payment:
 
This production is funded by the Canada Council for the Arts and dancers will be compensated comparably to current union rates.
 
How to apply:
 
Auditions will be held virtually on Tuesday, November 23rd (via Zoom) from 6:00-8:00 pm.
Deadline to apply Tuesday, November 16th at midnight.

Priority will be given to performers living within the GTA.
 
​About Joanne: Joanne is an accomplished performer, choreographer, creator in Middle Eastern arts, and more recently in contemporary circus. Joanne has studied at the George Randolph College for the Performing Arts, Ryerson College, Laval University, Québec, Associate of Arts.
