Crane Creations Theatre Company is casting for the Canadian premiere of Terror by Ferdinand von Schirach (delayed due to COVID-19). This courtroom drama is described to ‘question the idea of an end justifying the means, and warning against quantifying human life.’ The production will include a small live audience, if possible (who will actually vote in the outcome of the case), as well as be live streamed online.

Covid-19 protocols will be in place: all persons participating in the production must be fully vaccinated.

We are seeking 4 actors to portray the following roles: 

Presiding Judge (Supporting): Male, 40-60

An older judge who also addresses the audience and an omnipresent narrator on the case, they pass the verdict the audience decides on.

Ethnicity: All Ethnicities

Lars Koch (Lead): Male, 25-35

Defendant, a fighter jet pilot who is a major in the army with an interest in law/morality, he is studious and focused in his endeavours, with great pride and strong beliefs in his job.

Ethnicity: All Ethnicities

Biegler (Supporting): Male, 25-35

Defense counsel, a focused lawyer who is representing the defendant (Lars Koch), he has a distant towards the practices of the court/its required attire and a sarcastic sense of humour.

Ethnicity: All Ethnicities

Christian Lauterbach (Supporting): Male, 45-55

witness, a soldier who is a Lieutenant Colonel in the army, on duty as a Duty Controller, he is goal oriented, technical and thinks favourably of the defendant, he is in court on his day off.

Ethnicity: All Ethnicities

Rehearsals and Performances will all take place in Mississauga.

Rehearsals and performances will happen between October and December (TBC, based on actors availability).

Audition dates are: September 15th-17th
